Bethany Hayes Smith moved to Atlanta with her husband, Mark, from New York City, where she lived for seven years as a professional singer, actor, dancer, and choreographer.  While in New York City, Bethany starred in a solo cabaret of new works entitled: Uncharted Territory. Favorite regional acting credits include Into the Woods  (Witch); Smokey Joe's Cafe (Shimmy Girl); Annie (Lily St. Regis); King David (Bathsheba) and The Taffetas (Kaye). She had the privilege of performing at the Fabulous Fox Theatre with Atlanta's Theatre of the Stars in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Bethany has toured the world on Carnival, Princess, Cunard and Saga Holidays cruise lines as a principal vocalist and dance captain. She is also an award-winning choreographer and a member of Dance Educators of America. She has choreographed for various professional theatres, universities, theme parks, special events, show choirs, and dance teams. One of her favorite "gigs" to date was performing for the NBA's Indiana Pacers as an Indiana Pacemate! Some of her favorite Legacy roles include Kira in Xanadu and Roxy in Chicago. She is the co-founder and owner of The Legacy Theatre and Legacy Dream and the proud wife of Mark Smith and Mom of Desmond and Xavier!  Watch Bethany's entire story here:

Mark graduated from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX where he received a BA in

Acting and Directing. He has performed with California Theater Center(Sunnyvale, CA) Mill

Mountain Theater(Roanoke, VA), CPCC Summer Theater (Charlotte, NC) and Jenny Wiley

Theater (Prestonsburg, KY).  After their marriagein 2004, Mark and Bethany moved to Georgia, where Mark served as the Theater Arts teacher at Landmark Christian School in Fairborn from 2004-2008.  Favorite regional directing credits outside of Legacy include the Southeastern Premiere of Alan Mencken's King David , the World Premiere of Going with Jenny at Theatrical Outfit and Peter Pan at Jenny Wiley Theatre.  Mark has directed over 50 productions at Legacy.  Some of his favorites include the World Premiere of Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play, 1776, Jane Eyre, Tarzan, and Godspell.  In 2014 Mark received ACU's Distinguished Alumni Citation. His greatest achievements are marrying Bethany Hayes Smith and being the Dad of Desmond and Xavier. 

Samantha Hayes

Teaching Artist- Musical Theatre, Advanced Acting, Music Theory, Director of 1 Act Play

Samantha is thrilled to be joining the Dream Team at Legacy! A native of Terre Haute, IN, Samantha received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Missouri State University, where she was seen in City of Angels, Runaways, and Dogfight. Additionally, she worked regionally with Tent Theatre and Crossroads Repertory Theatre. Since graduation, Samantha has taken to the road touring with Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre and Missoula Children’s Theatre, where she discovered a passion for not just performance, but teaching as well. Tyree Thornton

Teaching Artist- Musical Theatre Choreographer, Jazz, Tap

Tyree Thornton is delighted to be returning to Legacy as part of the Dream Team!  Tyree was last seen on stage in Matilda as dance captain and an ensemble member. Tyree has starred in Beauty and the Beast and Hairspray productions here at The Legacy so he is no stranger. Tyree recently did work at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach in the Grand Bahamas as a dancer/entertainer. Tyree plans to make his way on to cruise-ships and eventually Broadway. Tyree send a huge thanks to everyone that has helped his dreams come true. A special thanks to his mom and little brother for being his biggest fans.

Mac Clark

Teaching Artist- Acting & Improv

Mac Clark is an Atlanta native with 20 years of acting and musical theater experience. He has been a part of the Legacy Theatre family since it's first season, and started teaching Acting and Improvisation in 2016. His favorite Legacy credits include High School Musical 1 & 2, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Mac currently works in television with CNN US, CNN International, and HLN at CNN's global headquarters in Atlanta. Mac holds a B.A. in Digital & Broadcast Journalism and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. He also graduated with an Advanced Degree of Study from the LDS Institute of Religion before serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Phoenix, AZ.

Emily Poorman

Teaching Artist - Team Coach, Jazz, Ballet & Contemporary

Originally from St. Louis, MO, Emily has 17 years of dance experience with backgrounds in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, jazz, and tap. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in Dance from Missouri State University where she was a recipient of the Dance Regents Scholarship.  During her time at Missouri State, Emily performed with Missouri State's Theatre & Dance department and Springfield Dance Alliance. She has had the chance to choreograph for Fall Dance Concert: Kaleidoscope as well as present and perform choreography for adjudication at the American College Dance Festival. Emily has performed new, original work by celebrated choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie as well as internationally known choreographer Ruth Barnes, a former teacher at the Merce Cunningham Studio, and Sara Brummel. Along with performing and choreographing, Emily also enjoys sharing her passion for dance by teaching young dancers.

Sims Lamason 

Teaching Artist - Dream Ballet, Tap, Jazz 

Sims is thrilled to be back at Legacy!  You may recognize her from such roles as Lily St. Regis in Annie & Betty Jean in The Marvelous Wonderettes!  She has performed all over the US.  Favorite roles include: Jo in Little Women (Nebraska Theatre Caravan), Eva Peron in Evita (Springer Opera House), and the lead in the OFF BROADWAY musical Spandex The Musical as Lorraine!  

In addition to performing Sims loves to share her gift with the next generation by teaching and choreographing!

Ashlynn Eubanks

Teaching Artist for Dream 0-1/Private Voice Teacher 

Ashlynn Eubanks is a voice and acting teacher in the metro Atlanta area. She holds a degree in Musical Theatre from LaGrange College and has loved the stage her entire life. Ashlynn has performed and competed all over the country, recognized as a NATS semi finalist in the national round of competition in 2018! Her performance credits include Tess in Crazy For You, Mrs. Bradman in Blithe Spirit, and Clarissa in Little Women. She is eager to use the skills she has learned to teach and inspire the next generation of theatre lovers!

Mandy Corbett

Teaching Artist - Dream Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Leaps & Turns

You may recognize Mandy from this summer's hit Matilda as Mrs. Wormwood!   She has performed all over the US.  Favorite roles include: Brooke in Legally Blonde (Cumberland Co Playhouse) and Lisa in Mamma Mia (Sierra Repertory Theatre).  Mandy is so excited to share her love of the arts with Legacy students!  She has also been featured in several films and music videos.

Kristina Bryan

Teaching Artist- Musical Theatre/ Choreographer

Kristina Bryan is thrilled to join the Legacy Dream Team! She has been working with Mark and Bethany for over five years, performing in seven productions and teaching at various summer camps. Kristina grew up competition dancing and doing musicals then went on to receive her BFA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Dance from Ball State University. For the past two years, she has been living in NYC, where she performed in a cabaret at Joe’s Pub under the direction of Sutton Foster and Michael Rafter. Some of her favorite credits include Babette in Beauty and the Beast (Legacy), Morgan in Godspell (Legacy), a singer/dancer in Hot Rhythm Nights (Dorney Park), and Katrina Van Tassel in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Encore at the Carolina Performing Arts School). In her free time you’ll find Kristina doing yoga, reading, and writing lyrics for the new musical Daybreak, which has a development workshop and staged reading in Indiana this upcoming spring. She is so excited to come home to Legacy this semester.

Hannah McClain Hildebrand, hannah@thelegacytheatre.org

Office Manager/Admin. Education Director

Hannah McClain Hildebrand grew up in Sharpsburg, GA just right down the road from Legacy. She graduated from The University of West Georgia is 2012 with a degree in Marketing & Real Estate as well as a Sales Certificate. She has been working at Legacy for the past nine years. She previously worked in the box office and helped with marketing but now is the Administrative Educational Director for Legacy Theatre. She has been in this role for the past three years. Hannah loves working at Legacy, building relationships with everyone and can’t wait for all of the exciting adventures to come while working here! She biggest joy is her daughter, Sophia! 

Robbie Kirkland

Faculty Manager/Production Stage Manager

Robbie Kirkland (not Mark Smith) is a professional actor who has been performing for over 20 years. He studied vocal performance at Point University, and traveled with their A capella singing group. He was the improvisation troupe leader for Newnan Theatre Company's N.I.T.W.I.T.S., where he also performed in numerous productions, as well as managing the box office. He has also worked as an Extra and Stand-In in several television series, and films (The Walking Dead, Drop Dead Diva, Life As We Know It, Parental Guidance and others). He was a Long-Term Sub ("not a real teacher") for Fayette County in the subjects of Drama, and English. Robbie has enjoyed performing in several productions at the Legacy Theatre (Peter Pan, Footloose, Rocket Boys, 1776, Junie B. Jones and various others), but you see him now as Production Manager for most of the shows. He assists Mark Smith, the Artistic Director, with the productions, and manages the facilities of Legacy Theatre.

Melanie Frazier

Box Office Manager

Melanie Frazier has been with The Legacy Theatre as Box Office Manager since 2014.  She has also worked with Habitat for Humanity, The American Red Cross, and is a current CASA volunteer as well as a licenced Master Cosmetologist in both Georgia and California.  Melanie has invested countless hours in project management, event planning, promoting volunteerism, and has served on numerous councils and committees.  In 2009, Melanie along with her husband Chris were named Volunteers of the Decade by Moses House Ministries for their efforts in working with teen moms and their babies.  Melanie has a deep love of The Arts, Disneyland, and dogs.
